Liberal Democrat members and activists travelled from across North Wales to support the by-election campaign for a seat on the Bae of Colwyn Town Council this week. In a campaign that started slowly but built into an enjoyable and exciting contest Ulysses showed just how much a young Lib Dem candidate has to offer in local community politics.

Ulysses Preston - Local candidate

Speaking after supporting Ulysees' campaign local general election candidate David Wilkins had this to say; "Ulysses did a fantastic job and I'd like to thank him for the hard work he put in promoting community first politics with a positive vision for Colwyn Bay. North Wales would benefit from more councillor like him at all levels. The whole campaign was good fun and I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak to so many residents of the Eirias ward. People in our communities are fed up with the policies of the Labour Senedd in Cardiff and disgusted by the behaviour of the Conservatives in Westminster. There was a real appetite for change."

Leena Farhat, general election candidate for Ynys Mon said; "The by-election was a huge success for Ulysses. His positive message and pledge to help young people in Colwyn Bay feel valued won over voters on the doorstep. As co-chair of the Welsh Young Liberals it was fantastic to see the energy and enthusiam that Ulysses and other young liberal campaigners brought. They inspired this campaign and built a team of new and experienced campaigners from across North Wales."

Ulysses and the Clwyd North Liberal Democrats would like to thank everyone who voted and helped in the campaign.
