Alyn and Deeside Liberal Democrats have chosen Richard Marbrow to stand as their candidate to the House of Commons in the General Election on July 4th.
Richard lives in Mold in Flintshire and works in Chester. He has worked in the public and private sectors and is a past Councillor and Police Authority member. He was recently the Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner in North Wales.
He is proud to represent the Liberal Democrats in this expanded constituency and looks forward to working with the committed team of Liberal Democrat campaigners in the area. Born in Swansea, he is now a proud North Walian.
Commenting on the upcoming election, Richard Marbrow said:
“I want to see a Fair Deal for people in Britain – so much has become broken and unfair. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to get rid of this discredited and worn out Conservative government.
“We need to tackle the cost of living crisis and to bring fair funding of public services to North East Wales. Between them the Labour government in Cardiff and the Conservative government in Westminster have let Alyn and Deeside down. We need change in Flintshire and a real local champion for the area.
“I’m not going to make any grand promises, we’ve all had enough of that. I’ll just promise to try and make the many broken things in our politics, in our public services and in our area better. We’ve seen the Tories blame refugees and the disabled for our problems. Meanwhile Labour blame events. Rather than blame I’d sooner give some hope. If elected I’ll focus entirely on being a force for good in North East Wales.
“The only force for real change in this election in our area is the Liberal Democrats.”
